Great works of art cast long shadows.

In PHAC Shadow Show we’ll be taking a superficial fragment of those umbral projections, a small hint of their essence, and use it as the seed to create totally original work. 

Participating artists were given a special piece of text as a prompt to create original work in any medium. The piece of text in question was an artfully redacted museum placard from the real world, attached to a great work of art whose identity will remain a mystery to you (Ex). 

The conceptual donor piece will be revealed at the show. 

These works will come together to form an inverted conceptual twin to an exhibition at one of New York’s venerated art establishments. 

Not imitation, but rebirth. Shadow magic.
